Jon’s first writing career started in 2005 and lasted until 2012, when, during a period that combined divorce, unemployment, bankruptcy, and a child custody battle, he became homeless and lived on the street for a time. Since the beginning of 2024, Jon has begun his second writing career.
From 2021 – 2023, during the COVID times, when masses of people sought at-home online entertainment, Jon began professionally running Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games online. A Game Master since 1982, age 11, Jon launched the Game Shop’s Basement brand of gaming entertainment.
Today, the Game Shop’s Basement produces a YouTube D&D channel spinning the stories that have come from 39 years of gaming, and the serialized novel series “Don Espino de la Rosa and the Dinos of Dreadcastle” which features the adventuring party that Jon’s sons’ characters gamed in growing up.
Proceeds from “Don Espino de la Rosa and the Dinos of Dreadcastle” go to fund “Hearts of the Fathers Ministries”, “The Divorced Dad’s Dojo” and other efforts to combat Parental Alienation.
In 2024, Jon began publishing non-fiction as well, primarily to support the Divorced Dad’s Dojo, Hearts of the Fathers Ministries, C.A.S.A.–Christians Against Spiritual Abuse, and Rabbit Runner Ministries, though there are a few other non-fiction books on the way that don’t fit directly into those categories.
Hearts of the Fathers Ministries is set for launch in Fall of 2025, providing resources, mentorship, and fellowship for fathers who, unfortunately, have to fight courts and hostile co-parents for their children.
In 2012, so-called “child support” was seizing 86% of single dad Jon Klement’s income, leaving him with less take-home income than the amount of his monthly rent payment, in spite of him having a full-time, professional, degreed job. Without assistance from family, there would have been no money for toilet paper, electricity, food or anything for him and his three children.
Eventually, Jon and his three kids wound up homeless, living in a station wagon. One day, after the station wagon broke down, Jon was mugged on the streets of St. Louis and almost stabbed trying to walk to work.
The Divorced Dad’s Dojo is a book series and podcast for single dads that starts by saying the quiet part out loud. The anti-father, anti-family, anti-child system is not broken by any means. In fact, it’s working exactly as designed. It’s designed to destroy you and your children.
CASA, Christians Against Spiritual Abuse. embraces those who have been damaged in purported Christian churches, who instead of receiving Christ’s love, received psychological manipulation and abuse.
It’s time for Christians to speak out about what goes in some “churches” because as 1 Peter 4:17 says, “Judgment begins in the House of the Lord.”
CASA launches 2025 with the release of:

Classcraft was a gamification system for school classroom management and student motivation. It started in 2014 and continued until 2024. According to former President and co-founder of Classcraft Devin Young, before it’s original form was discontinued, Classcraft had reached 6 million students and educators in 165 countries. One in three schools in the United States had at least one teacher using Classcraft.
The original Classcraft tapped into the love many students have for games such as Dungeons & Dragons and World of Warcraft, as well as the fantasy genre of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and more.
In 2023, Classcraft as a brand was acquired by HMH. Gone is the magic: the magic of dragons, wizards, and the emphasis on gamification in so many classrooms that had been inspired by the magic of Classcraft.
In 2024, Jon Klement began development on Labyrinths & Laboratories, the science component of Labyrinths & Learning. https://www.labyrinthsandlaboratories.com/
As the world needs a more stable and locally available food supply, with consumers able to know exactly how the food was produced and what went into it, gardening and raising rabbits is on the rise. In Fall 2025, Jon and his wife Anita will begin chronicling their lagomorphic adventures.
